Safety with babysitters
You can prevent the major causes of injury.
Choose a babysitter who:
has experience in caring for other children the same age as your child
has taken a babysitters' or first aid course
has references who were satisfied with the sitter's work
Show the babysitter:
where to find light switches, telephones, fire extinguisher, flashlight, and first aid supplies
how to operate appliances or equipment safely
where emergency numbers are kept
Remind the babysitter to:
supervise children at all times
check sleeping children often
keep the radio or television low enough to hear the children
Help the babysitter to:
understand your child's stage of development
