International Classification of Function

Description: This course explores the World Health Organization's International Classification
of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) and how it can be used for children with special needs.

Audience: Rehabilitation, Social Service and Education Professionals who work with children with special needs.

Objectives:

  • Describe and discuss the conceptual framework of the ICF knowledge by successfully completing the course case studies and post test.
  • Assess the practical and clinical relevance of ICF by working through the case examples provided or your field of practice.
  • Plan and state at least 3 ways the ICF could be used in your practice.
  • Practice use of the ICF classification system to complete a goal setting activity for 1 case study.
