The Newborn Care Program includes the Special Care Nursery, the Intermediate Nursery, the Neonatal Follow up Program, as well as the Division of Neonatology of the UBC Department of Pediatrics. Together with the Obstetric Programs, it provides comprehensive Level II and III perinatal services including direct patient care, consultation, triage and transport. Extracorporeal life support (ECLS) is provided in a joint Program with the Pediatric Intensive Care unit at BC Children’s Hospital. The Newborn Care Program maintains strong collaborative relationships with the other perinatal care providers in BC and with the BC Reproductive Care Program.
