Information for patients and families at BC Children's Hospital:

• General visiting hours are 2 to 8 p.m.

• BC Children's Hospital Emergency Department.
• Our gift and thrift shops can help if you need to pick up a little something for a patient or yourself.
• Information from your medical file. Print the release of Information form and fax it or call  604-875-3450. Please note that due to the volume of requests received, it can take four weeks or more to process release of information.
• There are a variety of family support services and groups available at BC Children’s and Sunny Hill. This information will help if you are looking to meet parents who have been through a shared experience, looking for some help to understand information in your language of choice, or need support if your family is grieving.
• The Special Products Distribution Centre is a retail service that carries an extensive line of nutritional products, including formulas for oral and tube feeding, thickened products for swallowing problems, low-protein foods, as well as tube feeding supplies and equipment.

Resources: 

• Family Support & Resource Centre : a library and book store with health care resources for patients and families. Check our patient education pamphlets for information about health conditions. There are several other libraries available for staff and families.

• AboutKidsHealth: BC Children’s Hospital has partnered with AboutKidsHealth to bring our patients and families a trusted online source for child health information. This interactive site features resource centres and how the body works

• HealthLinkBC Dial 8-1-1 on your phone or visit http://www.healthlinkbc.ca/ to speak to a health care professional any time of the day or night.
