Research

We can’t make children better until we better understand what is wrong. That is why research is a vital part of the work we do at BC Children’s. By working with organizations such as the Child and Family Research Institute, our renowned physicians and scientists are studying everything from in-utero surgery and gene therapy, to a potential cure for diabetes. Our Vaccine Evaluation Centre conducts research into vaccines that can prevent illness and save lives.

2010 Telethon Awards Competition

The Telethon Awards Competition supports the initiatives of the staff of BC Children’s Hospital to improve and/or enhance our knowledge of, and promote innovations and excellence in, the practice of neonatal and pediatric health care. This competition is open to all staff employed by C&W who have a well-defined project that addresses the goals of the Telethon Awards Competition; and/or are relatively early in their development as independent researchers and have not yet achieved major grant or industry support.
