Children's Heart Centre

BC Children’s Heart Centre is part of BC Children’s Hospital. Children’s Heart Centre provides leadership

and excellence in the care of infants and children with congenital and acquired heart disease. This mandate extends from antenatal diagnosis using fetal echocardiography through to early adulthood.

A multi-disciplinary team composed of experts in cardiac surgery, cardiology, nursing, and various allied health fields work together to provide exemplary family-centred care to children. Each year Children’s Heart Centre performs about 250 pediatric cardiac operations and another 100 minimally invasive procedures in the hospital’s cardiac catheterization lab.

Mission

To provide excellent health care to children with congenital and acquired heart disease by providing leadership in family-centered care, clinical practice, education, and research throughout BC and the Yukon, and to ensure their transition to adult care.
