Women’s nutrition services
The focus of dietitians working in programs at Women’s is to optimize nutrition for pregnant women and newborns. Nutrition consultation is provided in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.
Nutrition in Pregnancy Clinic
We provide specialized nutrition assessment, consultation, and counseling for preconception, prenatal and postpartum women at nutritional risk. For more information, see
Nutrition in Pregnancy Clinic
.
To make an appointment: physicians or health care professionals may refer patients by calling
604-875-2160
. Women who would like to make a self-referral can call and speak with a clinic dietitian at
604-875-2330
.
Newborn Care Program
The
Newborn Care Program
, which includes the
Special Care Nursery
, is also part of Women’s. The dietitian works closely with other members of the health care team to ensure premature infants receive the nutrition they need which is critical to their growth and development.
Women’s Health Centre
Women’s Health Centre offers specialized programs targeted to women of all ages who live in BC. Dietitians provide nutrition consultation services to the Osteoporosis Program, Reproductive Mental Health, Oak Tree Clinic for Women and Children with HIV/AIDS and the Heartwood Centre for Women.
