Social Work
The Social Work Department provides services to BC Children’s Hospital, Sunny Hill Center for Children and BC Women’s Hospital and Health Center.
The Social Work Department is committed to improving the emotional, social, spiritual, and physical health of children, youth, women and their families.
Social workers are professionally trained and are part of the clinical team assisting patients and families with the social and emotional impacts of an identified medical condition, perinatal care or disability.
The Social Work Department's overall objective is the provision of comprehensive social work services according to individual need, for children, youth, women, and their families. These services include crisis intervention, individual family and group counselling; parent groups; financial/practical assistance as well as liaison with community resources.
