Palliative care & bereavement
Pediatric oncology hospice palliative care addresses the needs of children with cancer for whom cure is no longer possible. The aim is to provide optimal comfort and quality of life, and sustain hope and family connection despite the likelihood of death. Care is planned and delivered collaboratively by an interdisciplinary team and based on a family centred approach with shared decision-making and sensitivity to the family’s cultural and spiritual values, beliefs and practices.
