Clinical rotations

The BCCH Endocrinology & Diabetes Unit offers 1-month clinical rotations in Pediatric Endocrinology for medical students, pediatric residents and endocrinology fellows. In general, UBC students and residents are given priority over Canadian out-of-province trainees, and out-of-country requests are only possible for a student in their final year of studies at an accredited medical school in the United States, or an approved medical school in the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand or South Africa.

For more information on doing a clinical rotation with us:
  • For UBC medical students, a 1-month clinical rotation is offered for 4th-year students only. This is organized through the usual rotation request channels.
  • For out-of-province medical students, a 1-month clinical rotation may be available, space permitting. Click here to go to the UBC Visiting Student Elective Program (VSEP) page for more information about applying.
  • For UBC/BCCH pediatric residents, a 1-month rotation is mandatory in the first year, and a second elective rotation is possible in the third or fourth year.
  • For out-of-province pediatric residents, a 1-month elective may be available, space permiting. Click here to go to the UBC Postgraduate Education Program Electives page for more information about applying.
Our Handbook for Pediatric Endocrinology Rotation handout is available here.
