General Pediatrics Clinic
The General Pediatric Clinic is a group practice that offers general physical examinations and well-child care from birth through 18 years of age. It pays particular attention to growth, development, preventive care and anticipatory guidance. In addition to care provided at BC Children’s Hospital, the general pediatricians offer consultative care for newborns admitted to the newborn nurseries at BC Women’s Hospital. Generalists are also largely responsible for the Intermediate Nursery, adjacent to the Special Care Nursery.
General pediatricians play a major role in providing 24-hour on-call pediatric coverage for the case room at BC Women’s Hospital. The UBC Division of General Pediatrics is also active in research, and medical trainee education.
