General consultations

The Nephrology Program offers outpatient consultations, both by phone and in the clinic, to referring physicians throughout BC and the Yukon, and inpatient consultations for patients admitted to Children’s by other specialty services for other reasons.
 
There are three half-day clinics during the week for consultative and general nephrology care. A nephrology physician is on call 24 hours a day and seven days a week for all urgent cases and referrals.

Bookings for new appointments are made through the Nephrology Program Clinical Secretary. Every effort is made to coordinate patient visits with other specialist visits and with bookings for specialized testing and investigations.
