Neonatal Program
Babies who are premature or have other health concerns may be cared for in the Intermediate Nursery. Babies who need more intensive care are treated in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). In both nurseries, parents are encouraged to spend time with their newborn and participate in his or her care.
Intermediate Nursery
The Intermediate Nursery is a ten bed nursery which provides care for premature infants born at a later gestational age than babies in the Special Care Nursery. It also provides care for infants that require a lesser degree of intensive care, but still requiring specialized care.
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) cares for premature or ill infants or infants that have special needs, such as respiratory support. The staff caring for these infants specialize in the care of premature or sick neonates. We realize that having an infant in the NICU can be an emotionally trying time and place special emphasis on including you in the care of your baby.
