Hearing Loss

Hearing loss can be managed
Who Do We See?

A specialist will refer your child to our team if he or she has known hearing loss and developmental concerns. Most of the children we see have permanent conductive or sensorineural hearing loss.

What Do We Do?

We...

  • help you understand your child's hearing loss and how it may affect your child
  • assess your child's abilities for learning and communication
  • make recommendations to help you and your community professionals create a supportive plan for your child
  • help you find resources to aid your child's development
Who Are We?

Our team is made up of clinicians from different specialties. The Hearing Loss Team consists of a developmental pediatrician, a psychologist, a speech-language pathologist, a nurse clinician, an occupational therapist, and a physiotherapist. Sometimes we might also ask for your child to be assessed by an audiologist or an ear, nose and throat doctor.
