Respite Care

We provide short-term respite stays for children with disabilities who cannot walk and have high care needs. Our team of nurses and doctors look after children and youth who need specialized care not available in the community.

The first step to get respite care at Sunny Hill is to ask your child’s doctor for a referral. The respite program Social Worker will then call and/or meet with you to gather more information about your child and respite needs. Your referral is then reviewed by the respite program team. The Social Worker will then call you to let you know if your child has been accepted for the respite program.

If your child has been accepted, you will need to book respite days through the program Social Worker at 604-453-8300 ext 8211.

For more information about this program, or to know how to prepare for your child’s respite visit, please see: Information about the Respite Program at Sunny Hill.
