Tone Management

Muscle tone is important for everything we do.
Who Do We See?
The Tone Management team at Sunny Hill sees children who have problems with the tone, or tension, in their muscles. This may be painful, and can make it difficult to move, sit, sleep, or do the things they want to do. The issues may include spasticity, dystonia, hypotonia, muscle spasms and other movement problems. Many of the children we see have cerebral palsy, brain injuries, or other neuromotor problems.

What Do We Do?
We...
  • assess your child's tone and how it affects your child
  • discuss treatment options to help your child be more comfortable and allow him or her to participate in activities
  • recommendations may include physical therapy, medication, or referral for surgery.
Who Are We?
Our team includes developmental pediatricians, nurse clinicians, and physiotherapists
