Trauma

BC Children’s Hospital has received Trauma System accreditation by the Trauma Association of Canada as a Tertiary (Level 1) Trauma Centre. This five-year accreditation was received in November 2005. The Regional Trauma System includes BC Children’s, Vancouver General, St. Paul’s and Lion’s Gate hospitals as trauma centres.

A Trauma System spans the continuum of trauma care, including injury prevention, pre-hospital, acute care and rehabilitation.
