Informed consent
By law, healthcare professionals (doctors, nurses, therapists, and technicians) cannot examine or treat you in the hospital unless you agree to the care. This is called "consent" to care. When you consent, or refuse, you take responsibility for the choices you make about you or your child's health. Decisions about health and wellness are important. You must have all the information that you need to make an informed decision. These guides are designed to help you make these decisions.
