BC Children’s Family Immunization Clinic now offers all publicly-funded immunizations at no cost to patients at BC Children’s and BC Women’s and their friends and family visiting the hospital.
The clinic, the first in-hospital immunization clinic in Canada, opened its doors in October 2017 for its annual flu clinic. Now, in addition to flu immunizations, the clinic provides all publicly-funded immunizations through a combination of drop-in visits and pre-booked appointments that are scheduled with an immunization nurse or physician.

Did you know your child should follow an immunization schedule?
At two months:
• DTaP-HB-IPV-Hib: Diphtheria, Tetanus, Whooping Cough, Polio, Hib, Hepatitis B
• Men-C: Meningococcal disease
• Pneu-C-13: Pneumococcal disease
• Rot: Rotavirus
At four months:
• DTaP-HB-IPV-Hib: Diphtheria, Tetanus, Whooping Cough, Polio, Hib, Hepatitis B
• Pneu-C-13: Pneumococcal disease
• Rot: Rotavirus
At six months:
• DTaP-HB-IPV-Hib: Diphtheria, Tetanus, Whooping Cough, Polio, Hib, Hepatitis B
• Influenza: The flu (the annual influenza vaccine is suggested for all healthy children, ages six months and over). Healthy children should by immunized against the flu annually.
At 12 months:
• Men-C: Meningococcal disease
• MMR: Measles, Mumps, Rubella
• Pneu-C-13: Pneumococcal disease
• Varicella: Chicken Pox
Parents/caregivers should anticipate the following vaccinations for their child/children:
At 18 months:
• DTaP-IPV-Hib: Diphtheria, Tetanus, Whooping Cough, Polio, Hib
At four to six years of age:
• Diphtheria, Tetanus, Whooping Cough, Polio
• MMR-Var [as of June 2014]: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella

Please note, flu season is now upon us and as of December 1, 2017, all staff, volunteers and visitors to the hospital or other Provincial Health Services Authority sites must have had a flu shot or are required to wear a mask during flu season (December 1, 2017 until approximately March 2018). Masks will be available at nursing stations, outpatient reception desks and the main entrances of our facilities. This policy applies to all patient care facilities in BC.
