Did you know we have navigation and wayfinding volunteers near the main entrances around BC Women’s and BC Children’s hospitals? These volunteers are available to help you find your way around the hospital and escort you to your appointment or your visit with family or friends. Last year alone, they donated more than 14,000 hours of their time to help you get to where you need to go.

Recently Volunteer Resources staff researched into updating the dark green vests identifying these volunteers. Volunteers, patients, families, and staff were asked what an updated vest should look like. We heard loud and clear that people preferred the colour green and we incorporated this feedback into the design of the new vests.

The brighter, kiwi green vests now worn by navigation volunteers allows patients and families to see them from afar.

Stop by and say "Hello" to the Navigation Team next time you are at BC Children's or BC Women's. Don't be shy to ask for assistance: we're here to help!
