Through educational, clinical and research activities, the CICH aims to prepare health professionals for global careers to reduce inequities in child health. Programs like the Social Child Health Impact Fellowship & Training Program (SCHIFT) and the UBC pediatric residency global health program are educating tomorrow’s pediatricians to build future leaders in international health and to provide the best care for all children, locally and globally.
Watch and learn about how engaging in global health activities enriches the education of pediatric residents and how they impact the communities they practice within. Residents who are interested in global can choose to engage in electives where they join communities of practice for 2 months or more in remote areas in British Columbia and health facilities in other countries.
