PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE YOU E-MAIL US

We cannot diagnose or advise on medical conditions via e-mail.
Instead, contact your health care provider directly.
Or, you can speak to a health care professional any time of day or night
by dialling 8-1-1 on your phone
or visiting HealthLinkBC.

To access the majority of our services/clinics you will require a referral from your family doctor.

Check our list of services and note that most sections have a direct contact us section for specific requests you may have concerning the clinic itself or referral requirements.

Here are some areas on our site that might have the information you need:

  1. Careers/employment.
  2. Information for international applicants (Link goes to the Provincial Health Services Authority, which governs BC Children's Hospital.)
  3. Fellowship or other post-doctorate opportunities. (Link goes to the University of British Columbia’s Office of the Dean, Postgraduate Medical Education.) This office administers the family medicine and the 61 specialty and subspecialty training programs recognized by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and the College of Family Physicians of Canada. All programs use resources in the university affiliated tertiary care hospitals in Vancouver (St. Paul's, Vancouver General Hospital 12th & Oak Pavilions, Vancouver General Hospital - UBC Pavilions, BC Children's Hospital and BC Women's Hospital & Health Centre).
  4. Medical records - You can request information from your or your child's medical file by printing the Release of Information Form and faxing it in. You can also call 604-875-3450. Please note that due to the volume of requests received, it can take four weeks or more to process release of information.
  5. To update your contact information, call Central Registration at 604-875-2763 with your changes rather than using unsecured email.
  6. The Family Resource Library has information regarding illness/conditions for children and women.
  7. The Services section has a directory our clinics/services.
  8. The Navigating the Hospital section has information about how to find your way around the site, including information about locations of bank machines, lockers, play areas and more.
  9. The out-of-town families section has information about accommodations near the site, travel, directions and maps of the site, and provincial maps.
  10. Preferred Accommodation program – private and semi-private room information.
  11. Volunteering.
  12. Donations or questions about the BC Children's Hospital Foundation or the Foundation Lottery.
  13. Donating toys or gifts to our patients.
If you still haven't found the answer to your question, you can e-mail us. Please note we will reply during regular office hours, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Replies may take 3-5 business days. We are closed during statutory holidays.
