BC Children’s Hospital's Mental Health and Substance Use Outpatient Services support children and youth experiencing a variety of mental health and/or substance use concerns.

BC Children’s Hospital is the provincial leader in pediatric mental health and substance use (MHSU) care across BC and Yukon.

We help children and youth up to age 16 who need support during a mental health crisis.

Our hospital has a number of mental health inpatient services where children and youth stay overnight to support their care needs. These include the Child Psychiatry Unit, the Adolescent Psychiatry Unit and a consultation liaison psychiatry service.

BC Children’s Hospital’s Multi-organ Transplant (MOT) Program delivers care to children and youth living with a solid organ transplant. We provide pre-transplant assessment, transplant surgery, and post-transplant care and support through to early adulthood.

The music therapy program at BC Children’s Hospital supports children, youth and families throughout their hospital journey.

The Renal Program delivers care to children and youth living with kidney disease.

The Neurological Care Centre is part of the Neurosciences program. We provide state-of-the-art care for children and youth with neurological disorders.

We care for children and youth across BC and Yukon with disorders of the nervous system.

Neurosurgery is part of the Neurosciences program. We provide surgical care for children and youth with disorders of the nervous system, such as brain and spinal cord tumours, cerebral palsy, hydrocephalus and spina bifida. 

The Nursing Support Services program is part of the Developmental Pediatrics program at Sunny Hill Health Centre. We provide in-home respite care and in-school support for parents and/or caregivers of children and youth with chronic, complex health conditions.

We treat children and youth with eye and vision problems.

The orthopedic surgery team provides assessment, surgery, and post-operative care for children and youth with orthopedic or neuromotor conditions, disorders or trauma.

We diagnose and treat a broad range of musculoskeletal problems. 

The Otolaryngology, Head and Neck surgery team provides care for children with disorders of the ears, nose and throat.
