BC RSV Immunoprophylaxis Program
The RSV program also promotes health education to reduce RSV morbidity in BC.

Eligibility criteria
The program has based its eligibility criteria on evidence and centred them in clinical rationale. It reviews them annually. Nirsevimab is a Health Canada-approved, long-acting monoclonal RSV blocking antibody given during the fall and winter seasons. Case surveillance by the RSV program determines when immunoprophylaxis starts and ends during the fall and winter.
For the 2025-26 season, nirsevimab is available in BC to children who are at high or moderate risk of hospitalization from RSV infection, up to 2 years of age.
Review the eligibility criteria (PDF) for the publicly funded nirsevimab program. Eligible children can receive nirsevimab in hospital or in public health settings.
