Referral information
Every child or youth needs a referral from a health-care provider such as a psychiatrist, pediatrician or primary care provider (family doctor or nurse practitioner) to access this service.
Visit our referral page for further information on how to submit a referral.
Appointment details
Your first visit
We schedule appointments on weekdays.
After booking your appointment, we send forms to families and caregivers to complete. Filling out these forms helps reduce the questions we need to ask you during your child or youth’s first visit.
You will meet with a dietitian and occupational therapist, and sometimes with a family physician.
First appointments are approximately 90 minutes to two hours long.
We may ask your child or youth to walk on a treadmill, so we recommend bringing comfortable clothes and appropriate footwear.
Cancelling an appointment
Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to cancel an appointment, at least 48 hours ahead of time if possible. Another patient may be able to use your appointment time.
Follow up visits
We book follow-up visits with most patients every 3-6 months. They typically last 60 to 90 minutes.
