We provide the Community Dental Partners program to patients who need financial help with anesthetic facility fees.

Anesthetic facility fee coverage

Coverage applies to children at least 24 months and up to 10 years of age whose parents/guardians receive MSP premium assistance (MHSD Healthy Kids Dental Program), and to adult MHSD clients with severe mental or physical disability.  A strict triage and post-treatment review process ensure that each and every patient receiving care through this program is clinically appropriate and effectively treated, according to established criteria and standards of care.

Since its inception in 2003, the Community Dental Partners Program has provided anesthetic facility fee coverage for more than 11,426 patients province-wide, permitting timely and convenient access to restorative dentistry services under anesthesia. BC Children’s Hospital administers this program on behalf of the PHSA, and continues to work in close collaboration with the Ministry of Health, the BC Dental Association, Regional Dental Hygienists, and private anesthetic facility owners and operators, to monitor and continuously improve upon the program.

The PHSA wishes to acknowledge the commitment of the Community Dental Partners in providing quality services to this patient population.

If you have any questions about this initiative, please contact us at CommunityDentalPartners@phsa.ca
