If your child is referred for therapeutic recreation, your appointment is usually a one hour, in person visit to talk about what recreation activities your child may be interested in trying. The therapist will work with you to find services and resources available in your community.
An aquatics appointment focuses on different types of adapted pool equipment to see what might work for your child. The therapist may also suggest certain swimming activities, and services and/or resources in your home community.
Sometimes our therapists come to your community to provide services (outreach). We may also offer education on how to use adapted equipment, and how your child can be more involved in community activities and school activities such as physical education classes.
We help your child with communication, self expression, self awareness, motor, and cognitive skills.
